Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 June 2026

Short version: Cute Count does not collect, sell, or share any of your personal data. All your counter data lives on your device and in your own iCloud account — we never see it.

1. Who we are

Cute Count is an iOS application developed and published by Erik Jere ("we", "us", or "our"). If you have questions about this policy, contact us at dev.erikj@gmail.com.

2. Data we do NOT collect

We do not collect, transmit, or have access to:

There is no backend server operated by us. No data you enter into Cute Count ever leaves your device to our systems.

3. Data stored on your device and iCloud

Cute Count stores all counter data locally on your device using Apple's CoreData framework. If you are signed into iCloud on your device, your data is automatically synced to your personal iCloud account via CloudKit, Apple's sync service. This sync is:

iCloud sync is optional. If you are not signed into iCloud, all data remains only on your device.

4. In-App Purchases

Cute Count offers an optional one-time in-app purchase to unlock unlimited counters. All purchase transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not handle or store any payment information (card numbers, billing addresses, etc.). Purchase receipts are validated locally on your device using Apple's StoreKit framework.

Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Genmoji and emoji

If you use Genmoji (Apple's AI-generated emoji) to decorate a counter, the Genmoji image is stored locally on your device and synced to your iCloud account along with the rest of your counter data. Genmoji images are never transmitted to us or any third party.

6. Widgets

Cute Count's Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets display your counter data and allow you to increment counters. Widget data is shared between the app and the widget extension using Apple's App Group mechanism — a secure, on-device shared storage area. No data leaves your device through the widget.

7. Third-party SDKs and services

Cute Count uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only third-party service the app interacts with is Apple's own frameworks (iCloud/CloudKit, StoreKit, WidgetKit, AppIntents), all of which are governed by Apple's policies.

8. Children's privacy

Cute Count is rated 4+ on the App Store. It does not knowingly collect any information from children or any user. Because we collect no personal data at all, there is no special risk to children's privacy.

9. Data retention and deletion

Your counter data is stored on your device and in your iCloud account. To delete it:

We have no copy of your data and cannot delete it on your behalf.

10. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Because we do not collect or process any personal data about you, most data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are fulfilled automatically — there is simply nothing we hold about you to act on.

If you have any concerns or questions about your privacy in relation to Cute Count, please contact us at dev.erikj@gmail.com.

11. Changes to this policy

If we ever change this privacy policy in a material way, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
